Author's Note: This story is just a piece of fun, I don't believe there is any truth behind it. I don't know Katie, Josh, James, Michelle, Kerr, Meredith, Monica or Kevin personally, all I know is what I read in the magazines and see on TV. Also, I don't work in television, so I don't know what sort of schedule they have, and again all info related to that area I got from the magazines and the TV Gossip shows. Please ignore any major mistakes I may have made. I would really love to get feedback on this, send it to missymcphee@dawsonmail.com ICQ 41164311
Disclaimer: Well, since you can't own people, it's obvious that I don't own the ones in this story. Katie, James, Josh, Michelle, Meredith, Kerr, Monica and Kevin, if you read this (yeah right!) and are offended, I apologize, it wasn't my intention.

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 7th

"And cut! Perfect, print that!" The director turned to his cast. "That, my friends, is a wrap." Katie, Michelle and Meredith shared a huge sigh of relief. They had been forced to do 23 takes on that last scene, and now finally it was over. Kevin came over to congratulate them as they made their way toward their trailers.

"Ladies, thank you. That last scene was brutal, I know, but you all fared exceptionally well. You should be feeling quite proud."

"The only thing I'm feeling at the moment is exhaustion." Said Michelle. "Please tell me we have some time off now, I need to recuperate." She pulled a pathetic, puppy dog face at him, and Katie joined her.

"You have until Monday, pre production on the next episode doesn't start until then. We'll have three days of rehearsals, and start shooting the nighttime scenes late Thursday."

"Well, since today's Saturday, that means we get a day off tomorrow." Meredith asked. Kevin nodded.

"Well my leading ladies, I'll see you all bright and early Monday morning." He waved goodnight, and jogged off after a PA.
Meredith looked at her watch, "2:15am? I'm going home." She opened the door to her trailer, calling goodnight to her co-stars as she closed it behind her.

Michelle wandered of in the direction of her own, after bidding Katie goodnight. Katie ambled slowly toward her trailer also, but in less of a hurry than the other's had been. Unlike them, she enjoyed these night shoots, for reasons she herself couldn't quite explain. She was about to enter her trailer, when Kevin's assistant Kathryn came jogging up behind her.

"Katie, good you're still here. I have to give you this." She handed her a red envelope.

"What's this?"

"I don't know, it was delivered to the main gates, with specific instructions that you get it as soon as possible."

"Oh, ok. Thanks Kathryn. Goodnight!"

Kathryn returned the farewell, as she walked off in the direction of her car. Katie entered her trailer, and flicked the light on, anxious to see what was in the envelope. She opened it, and found a Valentine's Day card. Inside was written:

Dearest Katie,
Only one week until Valentine's, I hope I can survive until then. Meet me when you finish for a sneak preview of next weekend's plans. You know the place
Love you always,
:-)
PS: Things may be a little less discreet this week, but I promise you, I won't reveal my identity.

Katie smiled to herself, he was starting early this year. Well, love had a tendency to cause you men to do silly things, she just hoped he didn't go overboard. She hurriedly changed, and practically ran toward her car.

MONDAY FEBRUARY 8th

Katie hummed to herself as she poured coffee. The scripts for this week were good, a little cheesy in parts, but on the whole good. She had been in a euphoric mood all the way through their table read, causing several of her co-stars to wonder about her state of mind.

"Katie, what's up with you today?" came a voice from behind her. She turned to see Josh standing behind her, munching on a donut.

"Nothing's up with me, why do you ask."

"You're so happy, what did you get up to yesterday that caused you to be in such a good mood?"

"Nothing, I slept all day." Josh gave her an unbelieving look, and opened his mouth to say something else, but he was interrupted by one of the many Screen Gem Studios assistants.

"Katie, these just came for you." All the people in the room turned to look at the dozen long-stemmed red roses Katie was handed, their mouths opening in surprise.

"Thank you." Katie said quietly as she took the flowers and opened the card that was nestled in them. Her fellow cast members gathered around as she read, trying to read the expression on her face. Her face lit up as she read the note, a huge smile breaking out.

Katie finished reading the card and looked up, startled to find 6 pairs of eyes on her. "What?" she asked them innocently.

"Who were the flowers from?" James asked curiously, "Man of the moment?"

"Maybe." She said coyly as she walked off, leaving her friends confused.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 10th

Michelle and Meredith sat around the set gossiping about the new guy in Katie's life. So far their friend had told them nothing, despite the constant questioning she had to endure. The guys had been surprisingly good to Katie, after their initial queries, and Kevin had unequivocally stated that it was none of their business.

Today though, they felt safe enough to talk about it openly, gossip as they case may be. Katie was doing an interview, the guys were on the other side of the lot, and Kevin had flown out that morning.

"Did you see the teddy bear she got today?" asked Michelle.

"Yes, it was delivered during rehearsal this morning. Who is this mystery man she's seeing?"

"Well, I have no idea. " Monica said as she joined them. "The only guy she's rumored to be involved with is Josh."

"But that's all that is, a rumor." Said Michelle, "I've never seen anything to prove it."

"But, we've never heard either of them deny it either." Pointed out Meredith.

"Well, whoever this guy is he must be in the business, or have friends in high places. The fact that his gifts always get delivered is odd. Usually it takes ages to go through security, but these come straight to her." Said Michelle

"Well, I don't think it's a obsessed fan, it's someone she knows. And likes, possibly even loves. You can see the way her face lights up when she reads the cards." Added Monica

"Well, I still think it's Josh." Stated Meredith. The others gave her a 'have you lost your mind' look. "They have this chemistry thing going on, this closeness. Besides, we've all heard the rumors. If it's someone we all know, I think the likely answer is Josh."

"You willing to money on that." Michelle challenged her.

"Maybe. Who do you think it is?"

She smiled at her friends, "James."

"Jimmy!" Meredith and Monica exclaimed together

"No, James Marsden, I know she had a thing for him, and they also had huge chemistry together."

"You're forgetting one thing, he has a girlfriend." Monica pointed out.

"Oh. Point."

"So any other theories?"

"Nope, not a one. It's rather infuriating."

"Tell me about it."

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 13th

"Any luck yet?" Michelle asked Meredith quietly. It was late Saturday night, the day before Valentine's day, and they were watching Kerr and James film a scene, waiting for their own turn in front of the cameras.

"No, the mystery man still remains a mystery. Katie hasn't said a word, she won't break."

"I know, I tried to weasel it out of her myself, but she's being very tight-lipped about the whole affair. Everyone's trying to find out, even the guys are in on it now."

Meredith looked at Michelle, an expression of disbelief on her face. "Really? This little mystery is gaining popularity."

"I know, if only we new the answer to our question, we could but lots of people out of the misery."

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 14th: VALENTINE'S DAY

Katie yawned as she slowly drove home. It was 1:35am, and she'd just endured another long night, one she could have lived with out. The whole week had been long, the constant questioning she had faced had not helped either. Oh well, it was Valentine's Day already, she had that too look forward to. She smiled, remembering the gifts she had received all week. It was a smile she carried all the way home.
When she reached her front door, she found a note taped to it.

I've decided to celebrate early.

Was all it said. Katie tentatively opened the door, and entered her home. She gasped.

The whole room was bathed in a soft glow, thanks mostly to the multiple candles burning on the dining table and mantelpiece. The table was set for dinner, a single red rose sat in a vase in the center. She stood in awe, and surprise for several minutes, taking it all in. Finally, a voice from behind her broke her thoughts.

"You like?" She turned to see her boyfriend standing in the doorway. He was dressed semi-formal, and was carrying a package behind his back, which he placed on the table. "I wanted to make it perfect." He said as they walked toward each other.

"It already was perfect, and this is just the icing on the cake." Katie answered, before melting into his embrace.

When they finally broke apart, he handed her the package. She gave him a loving 'you shouldn't have' look, and carefully removed the paper to reveal a jewelry box. She nervously lifted the lid, startled to find a fine gold necklace nestled in the tissue paper.

Katie looked at her love, "You shouldn't have."

"I wanted to. Here, I'll put it on for you." He lifted the necklace out of its box and motioned for her to turn round which she did. "So," he asked as he did up the clasp. "What did you think of my acting skills today. Did I look suitably surprised when that huge bunch of balloons arrived for you."

She turned around and gave him a look. "Yes, you did, but I wouldn't take that as any great feat. I mean, acting clueless is your job, it's what you do best." She smirked at him, teasingly.

James gave her a look of mock offense. "I resent that, my character may be clueless, but I am most definitely not." He leaned close to her ear and whispered. "I noticed you didn't I."

"That you did Mr. Van Der Beek, that you did." She whispered back as she allowed herself to be swept up into his arms, her exhaustion long forgotten.

"Oh, and Katie." James said, as he lay her down on the couch, "Happy Valentine's Day."

OK, so you're probably going, 'My god, this girl's a psychotic' right now. To you I say, so what! Sanity is very boring.Click Here to discover the level of my insanity. Oh, and I know the last bit was sappy but I read WAY too much Danielle Steele. Tootles people's, hope you all have a Happy Valentine's with the one you love, or lust as the case may be :-)
