BIG TIME DIRECTOR STEALS HEART OF SMALL TIME PHOTOGRAPHER...
On her wedding day!
-Hollywood, CA

Well known, award winning director Wade Leery (now known to have once gone by the name of Dawson Leery) wed small town girl Josephine Ponter in a private justice of the peace ceremony last week. The reason for the rushed wedding and secrecy? Ms. Ponter-Leery was engaged to another man!

That's right.. the director stole her right out of her fiance's arms, and she gladly ran to the rich and handsome young man's open ones...

WADE LEERY WEDS IN SECRET!
-Seattle, WA

All the secrecy surrounding Wade Leery's (Spaces, Criminal) wedding is being cleared up by old friends of his and his new wife's. Wade married Josephine Potter, an old high school sweetheart, the day after her ruined wedding where she ran out with him, leaving another man at the alter. Up until now, no one has known much about the private director, but since his marriage last week, old friends have been coming out of the woodwork.

"Dawson Leery (Wade's given name) and Joey Potter couldn't keep their hands off each other in high school. They slept in the same bed at 15. They said nothing was going on, but of course we all knew better," says Nellie Olsen, who worked with Wade at a video store during his teenage years...

"Tonight on Entertaiment Daily we go inside the secret life of Wade Leery, director. Where did this much praised man actually come from.. we'll tell you all the inside details, and juicy secrets of him and his new wife as teenagers, growing up in a small town called Capeside.

We'll speak with an old teacher who saw his potential from the start, Nicole Kennedy, an ex-Hollywooder herself. We'll also speak to classmates of his, who will tell all about Dawson as he was known then and his girlfriend Joey, now his wife. You'll hear all about a sordid scandal between them.. and you won't believe they were only 16 when it happened..."

"This is Rock D. Man, your local DJ here in New York City! Yeah, baby! On tonight's show, we'll have you all call in and tell us what you think about this whole "Dawson Leery scandal." He stole a woman right out from under another man's nose.. and she was his high school sweetheart. What do you all think about this? Was this a cool thing to do for such a hot babe, or should the guy be tarred and feathered? Give me a call and let me know! Anne you're on the air!

"Yeah, Rock? Well, I just think it's atrocious. What kind of woman leaves a man at the alter? I've heard all sorts of stories about this girl and her past.. druggie for a father. If you ask me, once trash always trash.. don't care how you dress her up in that fancy Hollywood home of his.."

"Ooo.. harsh! Let's see if the rest of New York agrees..."

...In other news, Wade "Dawson" Leery and new wife Josephine are keeping silent throughout the barrage of media and public coverage of their new life together. Their spokespeople only issued a comment "Mr. And Mrs. Leery are very much in love. They did come together under some different circumstances, but that is a private matter between the concerned parties and they ask that you respect that privacy. They continue to be committed to their marriage, as Mr. Leery is to his films." One can only wonder how the marriage can be holding out under such close scrutiny...

"Four weeks after her marriage to famous director Wade Leery, new wife Josephine, attended her very first public appearance at the premiere of Wade's new movie..."

E! Entertainment fashion

"Well, you can't deny Josephine's a good dresser. She has the style and appeal to help Wade's career. The black dress was simply stunning and the jewelry amazing. And I have to say talking to her, she really was the nicest girl.."

The publicity surrounding Wade Leery's new marriage of two months seems to be only helping his new television series which premiered on the FOX network last week getting unprecedented ratings. When asked how his marriage was, Mr. Leery commented "Great."..

WADE LEERY'S WIFE TURNED DOWN FOR JOB

An inside source at "Valemont's photography", a photography business located in Los Angeles with a good reputation, revealed to this magazine that famous director Wade Leery's wife Josephine, was rejected for a job there last week. The official reason was that there was a more experienced person applying, but my little birdie told me the business didn't want to have to deal with Josephine's very public image...

".. and speaking of marriages, friends are saying that Wade and Josephine Leery's isn't all it's cracked up to be. She's feeling the strains of Hollywood and he's working all hours on his new hit television series.."

Caught on her way from the airport in LA, visiting friend of Wade and Josephine Leery, Andie Witter had this to say, "Dawson and Joey are really good friends and very good people. They share a wonderful love and they are very happy together. They just want to live their lives and enjoy their marriage." She went on to plea that people "just leave them alone."

"They continue to love each other very much.. All the scandals of their past... Stole her from... none of the rumors are true... Joey and Dawson are good people ...small town lovers... high school sweethearts... thoughts of divorce already... the lovebirds were cuddling at ..." "It's garbage," said Joey. "All of it. All of it! And who the hell are all these ‘friends' and inside sources!?" She suddenly yelled, throwing a newspaper at a vase, that tipped over and fell crashing to the hardwood floor.

Glenna started at the sudden noise and went squealing from the room, "Aunt Joey's going crazy! Aunt Joey's going crazy!"

Andie merely sat at the table and grimaced. She couldn't imagine what Joey was going through. She just couldn't imagine it. It had been hard enough for her to hurt Will and walk away from their impending marriage, but to be blamed and scrutinized for it every day, was too much. It was taking it's toll on her, she wasn't sleeping, she didn't eat much and she looked very unhappy.

"Glenna's right. I am going crazy. Everything I do Andie," her voice returned to normal. " They know where we eat, where I shop, where we went to school, what movies we watched in sixth grade!"

"Joey, Joey try to calm down.." said Andie. Joey sat at the table and stared at her untouched lunch.

"How can I calm down? I hate this.. all of it. The damn magazines twist everything I say, some of them can't even get my name right, they say were headed for divorce. I never get to see Dawson, he's always on the set. My life is under a microscope. My friends lives are even under microscopes." She said referring to the article in one of the tabloids talking about "The New Lovebirds High School Friends."

"Don't worry about us," Said Andie. "We have thick skin. We can handle it. It's you I'm worried about." She put her hand over Joey's. "Your not taking care of yourself, Joey. That's why Dawson called me. He thought it might be good for you to have a normal friend around for awhile. Until this all dies down. My practice won't close if I take a few weeks off.."

"Until this all dies down?" Joey shook her head and looked Andie in the eyes. "It's been two and a half months. How long until it all dies down?"

"How long can you handle, Joey?" Asked Andie, frankly. Joey shook her head again.

"I don't know. I just don't know. I love Dawson so much, and in every aspect but this our marriage is working. We still have fun together, our sex life is good, and we make each other laugh." She gave a small smile.

"But..?"

"But with him on the set so much, and me not being able to find a job, I'm going crazy. All I do is read these idiotic articles about us and take pictures in fields, with the papprazzi trailing close behind taking pictures of me... I wish I could get a job." She sighed. "I have to find a way to make this work. I know I have to.. but I can't give up on myself, can I?" Andie could only sigh herself.

"Andie! Joey! I'm home!" Dawson called. He took of his sunglasses and hat. He wore them everywhere now. It seemed that since his and Joey's marriage the photographs and reporters had quadrupled.

"Were in here!" Called Andie. Glenna came running out from the kitchen where Andie's voice had come from.

"Hey Te!" That was Dawson's new name he had developed for Glenna, Te after her middle name Teadora.

"Uncle Dawson!" She screeched. "Did you bring me anything?" Dawson grinned and picked her up, giving her a kiss on the cheek. He couldn't wait until he had one of these of his own.

"I most certainly did," He said.

"Dawson!" Yelled Andie. "You spoil her!"

"I know! I love it!" He yelled back to Andie. Andie laughed and shook her head. She glanced at Joey who was snapping off the ends of green beans. She was pleased to see her smiling.

"He's so good with her," commented Andie, nonchalantly. The two listened to the laughter coming from the living room for a moment more.

"He is, isn't he?" Joey smiled a little broader. Tentatively, Andie asked, "Have you talked about.. children?"

"What?" Joey seemed a bit taken aback. She went at the beans with more fervor. "Um, no." She said.

"Oh." Andie paused. "Okay." There was silence except for an occasional squeal of delight from the other room. Then Andie spoke again. "Why?"

Joey gave a little nervous laugh. "I don't know. It hasn't come up yet. We're only 28.. there's plenty of time."

"Okay," said Andie again.

"Besides," Joey rambled on, setting the bowl of green beans aside and reaching over to set the biscuits in the oven. "I mean, I really want to try to get some more freelance done.. and I just want to have myself established some before I think about having one of those. I mean, you know I love Glenna and I think she's a dear, but with a child of my own? I wouldn't have a clue what to do. Dawson's so much better with kids than me and I really worry.."

"Joey," Andie came and put her hand on her arm. "It's okay. When it's right, it'll feel right. And you'll know exactly what to do with your baby." She smiled and gave Joey a hug. Joey hugged back.

"Thanks for coming Andie."

"Not a problem. Glenna and I are having lots of fun. We're not used to such lavish surroundings," she joked. Suddenly Dawson appeared in the doorway.

"Hey sweetie," he bent over and gave Joey a small kiss.

"Hey," she said. "How was filming today?" Dawson gave a big sigh.

"Well, were done for the week. We'll start up again Monday. So I thought.. maybe you, me, Andie and Glenna could go up north for the weekend? Maybe to Palo Alto? I know a good small house we could rent. Away from the whole LA scene."

"Actually," said Andie. "I think Glenna and I will hang out here for the weekend. I've been wanting to see all the touristy things around here. We'll hold down the fort."

"Are you sure?" Asked Dawson. "I'm sure Maddie will watch the house for us. In fact, she has a new boyfriend, Aaron. I'm sure they wouldn't mind the free space." He raised his eyebrows suggestively and Joey laughed and leaned back into his chest.

"No, it's okay. I really think you guys should head up there alone." She swiped at one last spot with a paper towel. "Now while dinner is cooking, I think Miss Glenna and I are going to practice reading." She discreetly left the room.

"I love you," Dawson whispered into her ear and nuzzled her.

"Love you too," she smiled.

"Um.. don't be mad."

"What'd you do?" Joey asked exasperated.

"Before we leave tomorrow morning, we have to have a PR meeting tonight." Joey moved out of his embrace.

"Dawson.. no. We have one of these almost every week. We sit there and talk about all the trash the reporter's write, but nothing get's done about it. Because there's nothing we can do. Unfortunatly, freedom of speech is still an unalienable right in this country, so those hacks of journalists are free to write all the like about our sordid past." She stormed out of the room, leaving Dawson to rest his head in his hands.

".. so I think the best we can do right now is continue to release these statements about your commitment to one another." Rob Angler, one of their public relations spokespeople said.

"I disagree," said Mike, another one. "The public isn't hearing or seeing enough of you two. They need to see the wholesome, happy couple. Or else they can only believe what they read."

"You talk about us like were molds of people. We have real feelings you know," Joey muttered.

"They know that Joey," said Maddie gently. "They are just trying to help you out here. We all are."

"I know," said Joey. "But I'm sick of all this crap. Why do they care so much? We're just regular people. Trying to have a semi normal marriage."

Dawson sighed. "So what do we do? A press conference?"

"That would be a start," Said Mike. "But I'd like to see you two try and get out there more. Charitable events and gala's and such. Make yourself a part of the Hollywood world. And wait until the newest sensational story comes out. Unfortuanatly for us, it's been a slow year in Hollywood gossip."

"Rob?" Dawson made the name a question. "It's worth a try, Wade. He's right.. I think. Have you seen the latest?" He threw a newspaper on the table. TOP SECRET SCANDAL: WADE LEERY SENT WIFE'S FATHER BACK TO PRISON TWELVE YEARS AGO

"How the hell did they find out about that!?" Screamed Joey. Everyone looked down at the floor uncomfortably.

"What use are you all anyway?" She stormed out of the room, as she had done to Dawson earlier.

"No more slip ups," said Dawson to his crew. "If something like this is coming out, I want to know.. before it hits the presses."

The three nodded. "Joey and I are going up North for a couple of days.. she needs it. Schedule the press conference for when we get back."

The two men began to grumble talking about press releases and photo ops. Maddie followed Dawson out onto the back porch.

"Hey," she said, resting a hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay?" Dawson shook his head, trying to keep his emotions in check.

"I don't understand how they could have found out something like that."

"It's the press corps, Dawson. They can find out anything."

"Why is this all hitting the fan now Maddie? Before this, none of them were crawling over me like this. I don't think any of them even tried to hard to find my real identity." His jaw tightened.

"Dawson.. a single director, even an acclaimed cute one, isn't news or gossip. But when you married Joey, it was like a love story come to life, complete with scandal and sex and true love. Most of all I think they see the love between you and Joey and it seems so .. what's the word? Fantastic to everyone."

There was a moment of silence. "It's killing her Maddie. And I can't do anything."

"I know."

"So what do I do? Isn't there any way to fix this?" Maddie sighed and shuffled her feet.

"Rob and Mike are the best out there Dawson. Their right, try to stay more vocal and just wait."

"Easier said than done."

"I know that too." After another minute of companionable silence Dawson asked, "So how's Aaron?" Maddie grinned like a teenager in love.

"Aah, that grin I know well," Dawson smiled himself and nudged her with his shoulder.

"I miss you too Pace. Glenna misses you to.. a lot," Andie said into the phone.

"Well, then, when are my girls coming home?" Pacey asked from his end in Maine.

"Soon, I promise. I just hate leaving Joey in this big empty house on her own. She hasn't been able to make any friends down here at all."

"It's really that bad?"

"It's really that bad."

"God," Pacey said tiredly. "Well, come home soon, McPhee. I love you."

"I love you too. I think Joey's friend from college is coming in next week.. Brandie. So, I'll take off before she comes in."

"Alright, I'll talk to you tomorrow my wife."

"Okay, my husband."

Dawson climbed into his and Joey's bed that night, exhausted. He had stayed up late trying to come up with ways to fix all the publicity stories. He looked over to Joey.

"I love you sweetie," he said, pulling her against him.

"I know," she said. "I'm sorry for that back there.

There are just some things you never want to have to relive." Dawson kissed the top of her head and cradled her in his arms. He drifted off to sleep, grateful that she was his wife.

He awoke two hours later, and glanced at the clock. 3 AM. Unsure of what woke him, he tried to get his bearings.

From the bathroom he heard the sounds of choking and then of someone throwing up. He sat up a little in bed and squinted his eyes toward the small sliver of light from the adjoining room. Was that Joey.. throwing up? He wondered if she was sick or if it was something else?

The first thought that popped into his mind was, is she pregnant? But he knew that wasn't possible, because just last week he had to run out to a drug store to get Joey advil for cramps. Was it the flu.. or had she just made herself throw up? He saw the bathroom light turn off, and Joey walked quickly and quietly back into the bedroom and curled up next to him again. And the sound he heard next was even worse. Quiet, muffled tears. She was crying. And it broke his heart.
