Joey bustled around the Icehouse working, but couldn't seem to keep anything straight in her head. Joey confused the orders; broke more dishes than she served; gave people attitude when they couldn't make up their minds what they wanted. Finally Bessie had enough, and said, "Joey, either go home or go talk to Dawson. I know that's all you are thinking about right now. Go talk to him."

Joey removed her apron and gathered her stuff saying, "I'll be at home if you need me. There is no way I will ever step foot in Dawson's bedroom ever again, Bess."

Joey left, and Bessie started to feel at ease again until Pacey arrived. Pacey walked to the counter where Bessie was pouring drinks and said, "Good afternoon, Bessie. How are you today?"

Bessie already in a bad mood glared at Pacey and said, "Well, I was fine until tornado Joey ripped through the restaurant. She messed up all her orders, broke dishes, and yelled at the customers. Do you know the reason she did all this Pacey? The reason Joey is a complete nightmare to be around is because she is still hung up on Dawson. She only thinks about him, and doesn't concentrate on her work. I finally got so tired of her attitude, and screw ups I sent her home. Pacey, I thought you said you were going to fix things between her and Dawson? I can't take much more of her."

Pacey shook his head sadly and said, "Sorry Bess. I had a plan and it was working, too, but something happened. Now Joey really hates Dawson, and he is so broken up he is holing himself in his bedroom. Don't worry though, I have another plan…this one has more potential to work. Look Bess, Joey and Dawson are a work in progress, I just need some more time. You understand, right?"

Bessie sighed wearily and said, "Take your time Pacey, I'll just buy more dishes. Please try to hurry though, Pacey I don't know how much more I can stand of Joey's attitude."

Pacey patted Bessie on the arm saying, "you won't have to endure too much of the human nightmare, I promise. Actually my plan is in motion as we speak, and this one I guarantee will ignite some sparks."

Pacey and Bessie sat and talked about how to reconcile Joey and Dawson, while Joey walked home oblivious to their matchmaking skills. Joey walked along thinking of Dawson, wondering what he was doing right then.

Dawson was sitting on his bed gazing off into space while a television screen played ET. Dawson moved to his window and peered off. Dawson gazed at the empty space where Joey's boat usually docked, and bit his lip. Thinking to himself he wondered where Joey was, and if she was thinking of him.

To whisper in your ear
Words that are old as time
Words only you would hear
If only you were mine

Joey opened the door to her house, and entered. Slamming the door behind her she leaned against it for comfort.

So today I finally find the courage
Deep inside
Just to walk right up to your door
But my body can't move when I finally
Get to it
Just like a thousand times before
Then without a word he handed me
This letter
Read I hope this finds into your heart, it said

Dawson moved to flounce on his bed, and ran his hands roughly through his hair. Staring at the ceiling he gazed at the pillow Joey usually lied on, picking it up he inhaled the scent. Dawson held it to his heart, and just stared off into space again.

And I promise you that we will always
Be together
Till the end of time

Joey opened her bedroom door, and throwing her shoes and jacket to the floor just laid on her bed.

Staring at the ceiling, they both sighed, missing each other.
