Summary: Joey goes home for Christmas to find out that she is pregnant.

We Can Get Through This Part 5

Three years after previous---Capeside

We see a little girl playing with her mother in the park. They are running around having a great time.

"Okay Dawn, time to rest. Mommy's tired," Joey said to her three-year-old daughter.

"Okay Mommy."

Joey and her daughter took a nap in the park.

***One hour later***

We see Dawn wake up, then wander off.

Dawson, Pacey and Andie pull up to Dawson's house. We see the moving van pull up. We see a sad Dawson get out of the car. After graduating from BU, without Joey, Dawson directed a blockbuster about a girl that left without a trace and then reunited with her love. And he was only 21. He was moving his things back into his parents' house. After they moved, they gave the house to Dawson.

Pacey had opened a clinic in town after becoming a doctor. Andie was teaching at Capeside High. Pacey and Andie had married after they graduated. Now they were awaiting the arrival of their first edition to their family. They had bought the house next to Dawson's.

"'Honey, look at him. He's still miserable." Andie said.

"I know. His heart was broken. I still wonder why Joey left the way she did. I mean not even saying good-bye." Pacey said.

We see this little girl wandering around. She looks scared. Dawson notices this and goes to her.

"Hi, my name is Dawson. Are you lost?" He asks the little girl.

"Do you need me to help find your mommy?"

"Yes."

"Okay, well I'll help you. Where were you and your mom last?"

"In the park."

"Okay. Why don't we go there."

"Okay." Dawn said.

They walk in silence until Dawn speaks up.

"My mom knew a Dawson. She talks about him a lot."

"Really, what's your mom's name?"

"Josephine. But she really hates when people call her that. She likes Joey better." The little girl explained to him.

Dawson's heart skipped a beat. He had Joey's daughter with him. He was going to see Joey after all of these years. He had this silly grin on his face.

"Well here we are." He said looking for Joey. He saw this angelic figure lying on the ground.

"Is that your mom." He said pointing to Joey.

"Mommy!" Dawn screamed while running up to her.

Joey jumped up from her sleep. She looked up and saw her daughter running up to her. Dawn gave her mom a hug and told her what happened.

"Mom, I got lost when you were sleeping and Mr. Dawson took me to find you."

Joey's heart skipped a beat. She looked up to find him. She saw him and found him starring at her. They just stood there starring at each other. Then Dawn spoke up.

"Mommy is this the Dawson you always talk about?" Dawn asked her mom.

Joey just starred at Dawson.

"Yeah sweetie, it is. Why don't you go play. I'll be with you in a minute."

"Okay." Dawn said.

Dawn ran off to play. Dawson and Joey just starred at each other. Then Dawson grabbed Joey and pulled her into a hug.

"God Jo, I've planned over and over what I was going to say when I finally saw you again, but all I can do is hold you." Dawson said.

"Please don't let go Dawson. I want to hold you forever," Joey said with tears forming in her eyes, "I'm so sorry I hurt you."

"Why did you disappear on us Joey? Dawson asked.

"Please don't make me answer that now. Could we just stand like this."

"I'd love too."

They just stood like that for what seemed like an eternity. They broke apart when they heard a little girl.

"Mommy can we go. I am bored." Dawn asked.

"Sure honey, just a minute. Dawson I have to go. Could we talk later. I have a lot of explaining to do."

"That sounds great Jo. I'm at my parents' place. They gave the house to me. You remember how to get there, right?" He asked smiling.

"I think I remember." Joey said smiling, "I'll see you in a bit, Bye." Joey said waving to him while going to get her daughter.

Dawson walked back to his place beaming. He ran straight over to Pacey and Andie's. He walked in to find Pacey torturing his wife by not putting the strawberries in her mouth.

"Pacey, stop torturing me. you know I can't move that much." Andie said.

"Pace, just give your wife the strawberries. stop torturing her." Dawson said with a huge grin on his face.

"Is that a smile I see on Dawson Leery's face?" Pacey asked.

"Yes it is. Guys, guess who I saw today?"

"Who?" Andie and Pacey said simultaneously.

"Joey."

"Really? Joey? The Joey Potter?" Pacey asked.

"Yes. I am so excited. She's coming over soon." Dawson said grinning.

"Great, I can't wait to see her." Andie said.

***Later at Dawson's**

Dawson, Andie and Pacey were all sitting at Dawson's waiting for the arrival of Joey. Suddenly they heard the doorbell.

"I'll get it!" Dawson said running to the door," Joey, come in."

Dawson led Joey to the den where Andie and Pacey were.

"Andie. . . Pacey!" Joey squealed. "How are you?" She said running to give them both hugs.

"God J, it's great to see you." Pacey said giving her a huge hug.

"Yeah Jo, you look great." Andie said.

"You look great too Andie. How's the baby doing?"

"It's fine, we're fine, just two more months." Andie told her.

"That's great. And I am assuming Pacey is the lucky father to be?"

"Yes he is. He's the most perfect man alive." Andie said giving Pacey a huge kiss.

For the next few minutes they got settled and talked about little things. Then Joey spoke up.

"Well, I came here to explain something. So guys, please just let me talk."

The room was silent awaiting the story. Joey took a deep breath and began.

"it all happened around Christmas about three years ago. I was just coming back from lunch with you guys. I was walking back to my apartment when I ran into somebody. It was Jack. I was so happy to see him. So I invited him up to my apartment to talk." Joey stopped to take a breath." I got us some coffee, and we started talking. next thing I know, I was really tired. I remember Jack telling me he'd leave so I could get some sleep. But it went black after that. The next morning I woke up with a horrible headache. I thought I must have gotten myself really drunk the night before. So I got up and got ready to go home." Joey stopped to wipe away the tears that had fallen. "A few days after I got home, I was really sick. Bessie thought it was the flu. But I told her I missed my period and right away she took me to the doctors. At the doctors, I found out I was pregnant. But I didn't know how it could be possible. I hadn't had sex with Dawson for a few months. Then the doctor told me a date rape drug had been used on me. My first thought was Jack."

"Joey I never knew. How could my brother do that to you." Andie asked crying.

Dawson and pace starred at her, awaiting the end of the story. Joey took a few deep breathes and began again.

"So I made arrangements to transfer to NYU. I felt ashamed of what happened. I felt that it was my fault. I couldn't go back to BU. So I stayed with en until I graduated." Joey paused wiping her eyes again. "Dawn Andie Potter was born on February 12. I even nicknamed her jailbait. I had to feel a part of you guys, even if it was only through names."

"Jo, that is so sweet. I am proud to let your daughter have my old nickname." Pacey said.

"I love her with all my heart. Even if she wasn't conceived out of love, I will always love her."

The room was silent. They all just starred at Joey, astonished. Then Joey spoke up again.

"My thanks to Jen was making her Dawn's godmother. I was eternally grateful to Jen and her parents for what they did for me. I moved back in with Bessie after I graduated. She and Bodie were great. Even Alex helped out. they all helped me take of Dawn." Joey stated as she broke into tears. Dawson couldn't stand to see her like this. He went to her and pulled her into his arms. She held him tight, never wanting to let him go.

"Jo, I wish you would have told me. I could have helped you through that." Dawson told her.

"I'm sorry I caused you all that pain, I'm so sorry Dawson." Joey said through tears.

"Shh Jo, please stop crying." Dawson pleaded.

After a few minutes Joey regained her composure.

"I'm sorry for breaking down just now." Joey said.

"Don't be sorry Joey. You've been through so much. We just wish you would have told us so we could have helped you." Andie said.

"I wish I would have told you guys too," Joey said while looking at her watch, "Well I should get going. Dawn's probably whining to Bessie for me."

"It was really great to see you Jo. Come by and visit all the time. And bring Dawn next time, I'm dying to meet her." Pacey said while giving her a hug.

"Sure thing Pace."

"Call me sometime Jo, so we can hang out, like old times." Andie said.

Dawson walked Joey out to her car.

"It was so great to see you again Jo." Dawson said giving her a hug.

"It was great to see you again too."

They just stood there starring at each other.

"Well I should get going. How about we all go out to lunch tomorrow?" Joey asked.

"That sounds great."

Joey started to get in her car when Dawson grabbed her and pulled her into a kiss. Joey was shocked at first, but put her arms around his neck. They broke apart and starred at each other.

"What was that?" Joey asked kind of dazed.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have I-"Dawson said but Joey cut him off, "No I'm glad you did it Dawson."

"You are?" Dawson asked, very shocked.

"Yes, I've been waiting to do that for 3 years."

"I'm glad you liked it. I'll let you go now. See you tomorrow?"

"Definitely.'' Joey said while driving away.

"I love you.'' Dawson said while seeing Joey's car disappear.

**JOEY**

"I love you Dawson." Joey said while driving away from Dawson's. **DAWSON**

Pacey and Andie noticed the huge smile on Dawson's face when he walked in.

"How'd it go out there big guy. " Pacey asked nudging Dawson.

"I kissed her." Dawson stated.

"Really? Way to go Dawson. How'd Joey react? Did she kiss you back?"

"Oh yeah. It was an explosive kiss. Words can't explain how it felt." Dawson said grinning. "Well I'm happy for you. You really deserve this."

"Thanx man. I appreciate it. Hey don't you think you should take your wife home." Dawson said pointing to a sleeping Andie.

"Yeah I should. It's been a long day. And I think she'll be having a long talk with Jack tomorrow."

Pacey went over and woke Andie up.

"Come on sweetie, let's go home." Pacey said.

"Okay, bye Dawson, see you tomorrow." Andie said waving goodbye to him. But Dawson ran over to her and gave her a hug.

"Bye guys. See you tomorrow." Dawson said waving goodbye. He then went to bed, awaiting the next day with Joey.

"What's with Dawson hon?" Andie asked.

"Him and Joey kissed, he's a little excited."

"Oh, I see." Andie said as they walked home.

****JOEY***

Joey walked in beaming.

"What's with you?" Bessie asked.

"Let's just say I reunited with my true love." Joey said while going to bed.
